PUMP Summer Program Overview
Each year PUMP plans and executes a multi-week summer program for children in the Northeast Portland community. This unique program offers mornings of small-group and one-on-one reading and journaling directed by adult volunteers from the Portland area. Each afternoon the children are taught by visiting youth groups on a specific Biblical subject and then led in afternoon activities such as athletics and crafts. On the last afternoon of each week, the children take a field trip to various places of interest around the city of Portland.
The Summer Program runs Monday through Thursday each week. We are able to offer this program at a very low cost to the people of our community because of generous donations of time and money.
God is working miracles through this program as well as through those he uses to touch the lives of these children and their parents.
