Joyce Pirtle, Vancouver Church of Christ
A few weeks ago a couple of women and I came across a lady who had been directed to our church by a friend in California. Through tears she stated that she didn’t know what she needed—except that she was desperate for some direction in her life. For the next twenty minutes we talked to, prayed with and encouraged this lost woman. We ended up all going home for a meal together, having great discussions during the meal preparation and clean-up. I do not remember exactly what was being said at the time, but I turned to the ladies and exclaimed the words that I had heard the entire church quote in unison at PUMP, “Just remember this: God loves me. Jesus died for me. And I can have hope in the resurrection!”
I felt so natural and peaceful using that quote as a lead to further conversation and encouragement to those women. It was truly awesome. I want to thank the PUMP church for finding such a good way to introduce the Lord to searching souls. It took me a while to memorize it, but I am so glad I did.
